The purpose of the WDI inspection is to determine if there are any
visible signs of wood destroying insects present at the time of inspection. The key word
here is visible, because the inspector cannot be held accountable for areas that were
inaccessible or obstructed at the time of inspection. Examples of obstructions
may include, but are not limited to, fixed ceilings in basements, fixed wall coverings,
stored items, insulation, floor coverings, furniture and appliances. The inspection does
not include areas that require breaking into, dismantling or removing obstructions.
Termite and wood boring insect inspections, Radon and water testing performed for
real estate transactions. |

Winged termites are usually, but not always
smaller than an ant, about ¼" in length. They appear to have two body
segments, straight antennae, and two pairs of equally long wings. Ants have THREE
body segments with a narrow waist, elbowed antennae and a longer pair of wings. |
